RMYC welcomes you to the fun loving and "over enthusiast" sailing community on the East Coast of Tamil Nadu!

Yes, it also means that you get to race the best waters in the country, in a way that it does not cost you and arm and or a leg – just Rs. 1000/- race entry fees !
Pursuit Format - all boats race in the Ocean, and the results are declared based on an internationally accepted handicap.

A regatta that pits Father’s against their daughters, Nephews against their uncles, National Champs against Olympic Aspirants … basically anybody and EVERY BODY who wants to Race.

What's Special About This Event: We encourage you to come and race in OUR boats - therefore eliminating expenses in transport cost.

When : Second weekend of December (Friday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday). We’ll hope to run 2 races after lunch on Friday, 2 ... the schedule is available in the attachment so a 10 Race Series with a possible discard …. We want to keep it Fair (and Lovely) for all who come from far and wide !

Who : Any member of any sailing Club in India. All you need the Entry Form filled in as per the attachment … No National body registration or pedigree certificate required.

Boats : You may not need to bring a boat (if you register early). 420’s, Omega, Lasers, Radials, 4.7, 29’er, N.T and Sea Bird will be racing in the Ocean North of the shipping channel (arguably) the best waters within a 2,000 km. radius to race in !

Prizes: There will be an overall prize for the Winners, Runner’s Up and Third Place. Any fleet exceeding 3 boats will also have a separate prize in it’s class. In a class of more than 5 entries, Ist., IInd. And IIIrd. prize will be given to the Boats in the first three places. The attached NOR on this will be more communicative and final.

How : The course will be a tri/quadrangle. All marks need to be rounded to Port. The slowest boats start first, followed by the next fight .... All boats finish in 60 minutes. The order of boats, their flights etc. are based on the Ports Mouth handicap attached to this mail). All other boats get their positions based on their previous mark rounding … Don’t worry – we’ll have a briefing too !

Stay : In the RMYC we have about 225 members of which most live in homes with a guest room. Don’t hesitate to connect with some one you know Or we can help you find suitable accommodation at a conveniently located Club or hotel on somebody’s route !

Corporate Teams: Yes, you can form your team, charter a boat and hire a driver for your boat. It’s been done before – we had one from the Coast Guard, Afton, Air India, CSC …

Social : Most evenings end with some sort of arm bending exercises !

Food : Yes, there will be Biryai on Saturday night if required !

Boats Transport: It has been a tradition at the RMYC to help Clubs and individuals show up with boats. It's possible that (like in the last regatta) we will arrange for truck to send your boats back to your Club (in India)iff your Club fields not less than 6 entries and the boats come in one truck.
